Rohesia Hamilton Metcalfe is the founder and principal of Hamiltro Website Design.
Her background includes filmmaking, video art, lighting design, and organizing art and non-profit events. She made her first website in 1997, led the development of the public website and a secure private intranet for a multi-national non-profit organization in 1999, and founded Hamiltro Website Design in 2001.
Over the years, working with a team of developers and graphic designers, the practice expanded to include website design for artists, therapists, authors, lawyers, performing artists and many more.
More recently, Rohesia has developed a more specific focus on developing private art archiving systems that can be integrated with a public-facing website. It’s work that draws equally on her art background, database development background, and website design background—and fills a specific need that is not matched by subscription-based platforms.
Every website is custom-designed to the client’s needs—vital for people who want their work to stand out—and the design is as much about creating a fluid user experience as it is about creating a great first impression.
Every archive is also custom-designed to the client’s needs—offering comprehensive record-keeping and full art management and legacy-building options for artists’ careers, art collections, artist estates and art galleries.
Rohesia also helps clients thrive in the digital world beyond the launch of a new website. Through newsletters and online workshops, she shares insights on digital media strategy, search optimization, website management and security, and AI integration. Workshops are free for newsletter subscribers and clients.
